This class is part of our Write From the Heart program. Motivated by topics that are close to their hearts, participants will experience the exciting growth of narrative from concept to execution as they put their ideas on paper and then see them brought to life in images or on stage.

Join the Writers’ Club and delve into the art of the play from the perspective both of playwright and play viewer. In partnership with theatre companies who perform at the MCA, participants have the unique opportunity to attend plays while learning about the art of theatrical writing as both playwright and theatre critic, creating short works for the stage as well as writing reviews of the performances they attend. With both mentorship and feedback from peers, members of the Writers’ Club hone and polish their skills and present readings of their work at the fall showcase. This class includes a ticket to to attend the October 17th 7:30 pm performance of New Repertory Theatre’s production of Trayf. Additional opportunities to attend performances may also be offered at a reduced ticket price.
