Humanity’s Child: A Musical for Today is literally just that: “for today!” The timely deeply relevant story and lyrics emerge from the real life experiences of young people as they “march for their lives” and especially young women as they navigate the complexities of gender relations in the MeToo era. Humanity’s Child presents an all-female cast of “20-somethings,” aka Humanity’s Cousins, and one among them, Humanity’s Child, representing every “child of humanity, youngest to oldest.” And, representing all wise, kind, and compassionate women, The Giver guides and counsels, but does not preach.
