Marjie Shrimpton invites you to forget your troubles and join her for a night inspired
by the legendary Judy Garland. Weaving together stories and songs from Judy’s life
and her own, Marjie attempts to answer the big question: “What Would Judy Do” (or
sing) if she were trying to chase our cares away today? What Would Judy Do? A Judy
Garland Cabaret, directed and co-conceived by Michael Pesce, debuted in New York
City in January 2018 to a sold-out audience downtown at the historic Duplex Cabaret
Theatre, earning praise from Cabaret Scenes Magazine saying, “Shrimpton stunned
with a musical tribute to her hometown hero.” Marjie was then invited to bring the
show to Minneapolis and Grand Rapids, MN, hometown to both she and Judy, last
fall. She now returns to New York for one final, revamped run of the show at the
Laurie Beechman Theatre in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Judy’s passing.
