This course will be more focused on building technique rather than repertoire. We will use a few exemplary tunes as vehicles to explore key concepts in bowing, ornamentation, rhythm, variation, and other stylistic nuances. We will also be going around the room playing for and listening to one another individually to build confidence performing in front of others, and practice newly learned skills in a constructive environment with the goal of encouraging students to get out and play in various settings like traditional sessions. This course will hopefully help to push an intermediate-level fiddler's playing to the next level.
