A waiver is required for all off-site trips and may be found on the event posting on our website. The waiver will be collected when the group meets at the Whitewater Preserve Visitor’s Center. This walk is subject to the completion of the road to Whitewater.
Participants will meet at Whitewater preserve at 8:00 a.m. The group will explore the two large ponds and campground area to look for Western Screech Owl, Common Yellowthroat, Juncos, Roadrunners and flycatchers. Participants will then walk along the Whitewater River trail to where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses the property. Sights on this walk may include Rock Wrens, Hummingbirds, Bushtits, Scrub Jay, Cedar Waxwings with the possibility of Barn Owl or Merlin. Peregrine Falcon and Bighorn Sheep are often seen at the Preserve.

Closed-toe shoes, hat, sunscreen, and water are essential. Binoculars, camera, snacks, and lunch are optional.
