Areas of focus include: character work, status, medium and long form scenes, and much more, all while embracing the “strong and wrong” and learning how to figure it out together. This class culminates in a free showcase for friends, foes, and family.

This class, taught by LOM co-founders, Nolan Kennedy and Scarlet Maressa Rivera, is the next step in the process of creating spontaneous work as a cohesive ensemble.

This 6-week intermediate Improv Course builds upon the ensemble improv techniques set forth in BIT Improv Fundamentals 1. Brooklyn Improv Training BIT Improv Fundamentals 1 or related improv experience is required. If you haven't trained with us before but feel you are ready to jump into this class, please email us at info@lomtheater.org with your resume/improv experiences.

---------

Brooklyn Improv Training (BIT) teaches ensemble improv: the skills of spontaneously creating, as a group, a single piece of work. Drawing from the wisdom of Viola Spolin, Keith Johnstone, Del Close, and also from 15 years of improv teaching experience in NYC and beyond, the BIT approach is experiential, on your feet, and full of joy. We teach letting go of judgment, how to stay present, how to embrace the “strong and wrong,” and many other practical strategies to create hilarious, delightful scene work with an ensemble of players. Our goal is not to teach you how to be the funniest person in the room, it’s to make the whole room funnier. All classes are 18 and up.
