Groundbreaking Experimental Composer Gary Schall
Gary Schall makes music like you’ve never heard before. At only 19. This extraordinarily talented multi-instrumentalist was invited to join the Grammy-winning ensemble of acclaimed minimalist composer Steve Reich. In the decades since, Schall has remained on the cutting edge of the music world, composing music for experimental instruments like the metallic 31-toned Zoomoozophone or the patented Tap Dance Instrument – a wood and brass multi-timbre floor that turns tap dancing into music designed by world renowned choreographer Anita Feldman. In this concert at Baruch College Engelman Recital Hall, Schall’s ensemble – which happens to be names Schall – performs a selection of the composer’s latest works with mutli-media.
