Works In Progress
Theme: Alternate Realities
Guest Host: Jason Yi

We are looking for scripts-in-progress that take us to an Alternate Reality.


-Theatre of the Absurd…

For Works in Progress, writers are pre-selected to share up to 10 pages of their script-in-progress in front of an audience. Actors will be cast on the spot at 6pm EST (no advanced casting allowed) and the readings will begin at 7pm EST.

Want to get involved?

Writers: To participate, email your submission (up to 10 pages) of your script in progress to Deadline to submit is Friday, April 30 at 5pm ET. Writers will be notified if selected by May 4.

Actors: To participate, reserve your free ticket and login to the event at 6pm ET on May 7. For the event, we ask that actors join the Zoom session in a quiet place. Actors will be cast on the spot, have a quick rehearsal session, and then do a reading for all at 7pm EST.

Audience: If you’d like to watch the readings, reserve your free ticket and login to the event at 7pm EST.

About this month's host:

Jason Yi is a writer, director, and editor, and is a graduate of the London Film School (MA Filmmaking, Tom Schwalm editing award). In 2019/20 he took part in the Barrow Group’s one-year directing program, and is excited to be working with them again for First Fridays. He is currently developing a short film and a feature screenplay.
