A 13-week course including scene study, character analysis, and so much more! Week 1, Oct. 8th: "Challenges of Writing a 10-minute Play". Guest star teacher Richard Wesley, associate professor as NYU Tisch School of the Arts and screenwriter of "Uptown Saturday Night", "Let's Do it Again", and "Native Son". Week 2, Oct. 15th: "How an Actor Prepares". Guest star teacher Tonya Pinkins, television, theatre, and film actress and Tony Award winner Best Featured Actress for "Jelly's Last Jam". Week 3, Oct. 29th: "The Politics of Acting". Guest star teacher Andre DeShields, actor, singer, dancer, director, and choreographer and Tony Award winner Best Featured Actor for "Hades Town". Follow-up 10-week Zoom sessions taught by actress and author Beverly Burchett.

How An Actor Prepares, instructed by special guest star teacher Tonya Pinkins - an American television, film and theater actress and author known for her work on the soap opera All My Children and for her roles on Broadway. She has won Obie, Lortel, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, AUDLECO, Garland, L.A. Drama Critics Circle, Clarence Derwent, and NAACP Theater Awards. She has been nominated for the Olivier, Helen Hayes, Noel, Joseph Jefferson, NAACP Image, Soap Opera Digest, and Ovation Awards, and is a Tony Award winner in the Best Featured Actress category for her performance in the Broadway play "Jelly's Last Jam"
