Plano, IL 60545

Virtual Event

Presented in partnership with the “Where Women Made History” campaign of the National Trust for Historic preservation and the “Women Who Built Illinois” program of Landmarks Illinois, this virtual symposium will include five women historians focused on pioneering Chicago women in the fields of architecture, interiors, landscape, industrial products and graphic design in the mid-twentieth century. Design historians Susan Benjamin, Kim Soss, Julia Bachrach, Victoria Matranga and Lynn Martin Windsor will highlight the career accomplishments and challenges faced by these “designing women” – who made significant contributions to their professions and Chicago’s cultural history. A Zoom access code will be sent 24 hours prior to the presentation.
