"Scavengers ain’t got no appreciation of culture." - Zetta

While the live-performance season is on hold nationwide, The Seeing Place (TSP) continues to produce great plays by distinguished playwrights online. Throughout our global pandemic we’ve come to realize that storytelling, about the past, present and future, are more important than ever. Enter Liz Duffy Adams irreverent post-apocalyptic play DOG ACT.

The play follows the adventures of Zetta Stone, a traveling performer, and her companion Dog (a young man undergoing a “voluntary species demotion”) as they wander through the former northeastern United States. Zetta, Dog and their little troupe are on their way to a gig in China, assuming they can find it...and survive the journey. DOG ACT is a theatrical, darkly comic variation on the classic doomsday genre, with five original songs.

DOG ACT features TSP veterans Erin Cronican, Robin Friend, William Ketter, Jon L Peacock, Hailey Vest, Brandon Walker (who appeared in one of the first ever productions of the play in 2005), and Weronika Helena Wozniak. It is directed by Erin Cronican, with stage management by Shannon Formas.

100% of the proceeds for DOG ACT are being donated to the Food Pantry at St Clement’s NYC: A congregation that has always celebrated the ministry of women, of gay and lesbian people, and those of all walks of life; a longtime center of service to the poor, celebrating social activism and creative liturgy - one of the most diverse Episcopal parishes in New York City. St Clement's has operated a food pantry since 1986, one of its primary means of outreach.

DOG ACT will be performed live via Zoom
January 30, 2021 and February 5, 2021 at 7pm EASTERN TIME.

TICKETS - $10 or more

NOTE: Proceeds from tickets will be donated directly to the Food Pantry at St Clement's. You may choose a higher ticket price, which means more money will be received by St Clement's. If you'd like to make a donation to The Seeing Place instead, you may also do so at check out. (Those donations go to us for Season 10.)

A Zoom Link will be sent upon sign-up. Be sure to check your spam folder.

With an emphasis on the organic, edgy American style of acting developed by the Group Theatre, TSP allows audiences to experience modern classics with deeper understanding of how they relate to the struggles we face today. With that, tickets are as low as $10 as a part of TSP’s Affordable Theater Initiative, making theater accessible for all.
