***This class is a hybrid of virtual and in-studio. The schedule is below:

Virtual classes on Zoom: 4/20, 4/27, 5/11 & 5/25

In-studio classes (at Boston Casting): 5/4 & 5/18 (we will break the class up into two groups (with 6 people in each group) for in person learning: group 1 will meet from 6pm - 7:15pm and group 2 will meet from 7:30pm - 8:45pm. Dennis will schedule these groups during the first class and we will try to accommodate preferences when possible.

About our COVID compliant studio:

*We are limiting space to 6 actors only to allow for 5+ feet of social distancing. Actors are required to wear masks except when performing (performing actors will be at least 6+ ft away from other actors). Our main office has been turned into a casting studio/classroom space, so we have plenty of space and a wall full of windows (which will be open at all times).

Utilizing actual film copy and monologues in a supportive and creative environment, students will work on-camera with playback as they learn how to audition for and work on film. In-class work will target character development, reading and analyzing scripts, the technical requirements of the camera, working with props, and minding continuity. Upon completion of this course, each student will have the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to analyze characters and scripts. Students will be able to communicate the character and story using the technical requirements of acting on-camera. The confidence and technique gained from the class will groom students to audition for and thrive on film.
