Eszter Balint is a singer-songwriter with three critically acclaimed solo albums, She grew up as an acting member of the avant-garde theater company Squat Theatre, and she has appeared in starring and featured roles in films by Jim Jarmusch, Woody Allen, Steve Buscemi, alongside David Bowie, and Louis CK’s FX TV show Louie. Eszter has also been featured as a guest violinist and/or singer on various projects, albums and live performances by other artists including Marc Ribot, Michael Gira (Angels of Light, Swans) John Lurie and Tammy Faye Starlite.

Eszter is currently at work on a new album and live show featuring songs co-written with Stew (Passing Strange, The Total Bent, Songs of a Native Song, The Negro Problem.) The piece traces Eszter’s journey from communist Hungary to ’late 70s-80s New York City, by way of her parents’ radical theater group and winds its way through a Lower East Side mofongo of poverty, glamour, sex, drugs, dancing, darkness and yes, light. The show digs fearlessly into oppression, freedom, the possibilities in chaos, the dreams and lost dreams of America, and the battles with memories when you are most invested in the now. It was set to open at Dixon Place in late March 2020.

Chris Cochrane is guitarist / songwriter, improviser who has been playing-in-around NYC since 1982. He has played with Zeena Parkins, Brian Chase, Marc Ribot, Gelsey Bell, Syd Straw and Stew and as on-going guitarist for Eszter Balint and Church of Betty. He has worked with choreographers Ishmael Houston-Jones and John Jasperse among others and also collaborated with writer Dennis Cooper and visual artist Nayland Blake. He is thrilled to announce two upcoming recordings this year, No Safety Live in Italy 1994 and duo project with John Thayer

Marlon Cherry is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who works with various artists and groups, including Stew & The Negro Problem, Church of Betty, Terre Roche and Lusterlit. He has released 4 solo projects including 'Elsewhere' and 'Ancient Sound, Modern Dance', both available at CD Baby, Spotify and the usual streaming sites.
