Music Video Presentation

COLOURS, Amandine Navarro, director & writer, Canada
Nick Saanto and their dancers go to a strange Queer museum. People of the LGBTQIA+ community are locked-up in rooms where visitors can look, scrutinize and judge them. Nick releases them one by one, and gives them the freedom they’ve always deserved.

HYMN DUDES, Cat Mahatta & Alli Miller, directors, Cat Mahatta, writer, U.S.
"Hymn to Dudes" is an anthemic message to the patriarchal powers that be that drips with harmony and gold. Cat Mahatta's celestial vocals deliver her not-so-subtle complaints about those who abuse their power to demean and oppress. The video portrays a mystical sleepover in which Cat is inducted into a queer coven of feminist art goddesses.

I DON'T FIT IN ANYWHERE, Video Rahim, director, U.S.
“I Don’t Fit In Anywhere” is a rock anthem for all the misfits and outcasts pushed to the margins of society, made to feel different, ashamed and excluded. Co-written by punk rock icon, Jayne County, rock’s first openly transgendered vocalist, and singer/songwriter, Am Taylor.

LEFT FOR DEAD, Tab Ballis, director, U.S.
Singer songwriter Laura McLean evokes the dark soul of a Southern coastal town rocked by a horrific hate crime, in her original song for the documentary film Park View, "Left for Dead."

PARTNER, Lesley Marshall, director, Canada
"This song is about a wild night on the town filled with queer desire. It is an important song to us because it expresses a feeling we know is shared by many. There are a lot of songs out there about women’s bodies but this is the only song we know about big gay hands. This song is dedicated to the hotties and to those who love them."

TOMORROW, Shaun Parker, director, James Emmanuel, writer, Australia
Filmed in a classroom, TOMORROW is the new music video by JamarzOnMarz, and depicts a rebellious uprising of diverse students led by JamarzOnMarz fighting for inclusivity. Dovetailing this is a wholesome narrative of his character’s first queer romance. Facing the Principal’s clippers for having ‘extreme’ Afro-styled hair, JamarzOnMarz is a dragged by the hair into the Principal’s office to have his hair shaved, however his friends rise to the occasional and twerk and krump the mean Principal into a dazed stupor! With lavender-tinged uniforms, alluding to the colours historical queer use, the students revolt with satisfying consequences!
