1949 Campus Drive - Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts
on the Evanston Campus of Northwestern University
Evanston, IL 60208
Located on the southeast part of the Evanston campus just off Sheridan Road on Campus Drive. The Wallis studio theatre space is on the west side of the Wirtz Center/Theater building facing west.

This production is part of the MFA Lab series, matching Northwestern's emerging MFA directors and designers for exciting and unexpected collaborations with contemporary theatre.

Ten explorers. Four boats. One Grand Canyon. Men On Boats is the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition, when a one-armed captain and a crew of insane yet loyal volunteers set out to chart the course of the Colorado River. This thrilling and widely acclaimed play cleverly fuses unconventional casting with contemporary dialogue and slapstick comedy to discuss the dark, uncomfortable and often painful aspects of U.S. history.

All patrons will be required to show proof of full vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the start of the event. All patrons will be required to wear a mask at all times while indoors. Estimated running time for this production is 1 hour and 50 minutes with no intermission.
