Crossroads: at critical junctures in our lives we are faced with important - and sometimes difficult - decisions and choices. In Bach’s delightful secular cantata, "Hercules at the Crossroads", our eponymous hero, in dialogue with both Virtue and Lust, must choose between his integrity and his desire. The poetry of Louise Gluck brings us closer to the dilemma of the Crossroads of our time - our dashed hopes, unresolved dreams, and revisited memories.
