Named the 2020 Classical Woman of the Year by Performance Today and listed as one of the Top 35 Women Composers by the Washington Post, the Frost Symphony Orchestra presents former Frost faculty Valerie Coleman’s piece, “7 o’clock Shout”, conducted by graduate conductor, Yun Cao. This concert also presents the winner of the 2022 FSO Piano Concerto Competition in a performance of Beethoven’s C minor concerto, conducted by graduate conductor Alberto Bade. The premiere of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet, the Rite of Spring, infamously caused a riot on the Parisian streets. It is considered to be one of the most influential pieces of the 20th Century. Gerard Schwarz conducts Stravinsky’s most well-known work, the Rite of Spring.
