Medea is part of La MaMa’s Great Jones Repertory Company’s Humanismo Project: Ancient Futures Series. Medea, is based on the original 1972 production and text of Medea created by Great Jones Rep; composed by Elizabeth Swadows and directed by Andrei Serban. Zishan Ugurlu directs this hybrid re-imagining combining ancient tongues and contemporary languages that seeks to create harmony between technology and the raw experience of the tragedy and delves into the current global refugee crisis.
