Open Viewing provides access to select works of art in the collection. Guests are free to arrive between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., but they are encouraged to look at the limited hours of each installation on Chinati's website ahead of time.

Open Viewing provides limited access to the museum grounds and select works of art in the collection. Tickets are available for purchase on a daily basis at the Visitor Center. Gates open at 9:00 am and close at 4:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. The current schedule is as follows or visit our Open Viewing page.

Open Viewing Schedule

Wednesday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Final entry for all visitors is 4 p.m.

Permanent Collection:

To visit the Judd works, please check in at the visitor center, which is located at 1 Cavalry Row. To visit the Chamberlain building in downtown Marfa, please check in with the attendant at 106 North Highland Avenue.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Donald Judd, 15 untitled works in concrete (1980-1984)

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Donald Judd, 100 untitled works in mill aluminum (1982-1986)

1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. – John Chamberlain, Various works (1968-1983)

Special Exhibitions:

To visit the special exhibitions, please check in at the visitor center, which is located at 1 Cavalry Row.

1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Porfirio Gutiérrez, Cosmos/Continuous Line in the exhibition space

1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Sarah Crowner, Platform (Blue Green Terracotta for JC) and John Chamberlain Sculptures and Paintings in the exhibition gallery
