"I'm not a humanitarian, I'm a hellraiser."

Our Bodies Ourselves Today invites you to spend some time with Mother Jones over Mother’s Day weekend.

This public program shares and discusses the documentary film, Fight Like Hell (Bullfrog Films, 2022), a portrait of the fiery labor activist Mary Harris “Mother” Jones – called in her lifetime “the most dangerous woman in America” and the “grandmother of all agitators.”

After a screening at Suffolk’s Modern Theater (with simultaneous streaming to remote attendees), a panel will discuss the continued relevance of Mother Jones’s life of radical activism. Dr. Kathryn Lasdow (Assistant Professor, History, Language, and Global Culture) will moderate the discussion with the film’s writer and star, Kaiulani Lee; historian and Our Bodies Ourselves Today Program Director, Dr. Laura R. Prieto; and longtime feminist labor activist, Lisa Gallatin.

Fight Like Hell has won multiple awards including from the Washington DC International Cinema Festival, the Toronto International Women Film Festival, and the Chicago Irish Film Festival.
