The Delicate Tears of the Waning Moon
By Rebeca Aleman
Directed by Iraida Tapias
Inspired by true events, The Delicate Tears Of The Waning Moon addresses the relentless violation of human rights against journalists who strive to report the truth. Paulina, a journalist advocating for indigenous communities and victims of femicide, has recently emerged from a coma after a brutal attack. To achieve justice, she needs to recover her memory and reveal the truth. She only remembers having a mother and a daughter. Rodrigo, her best friend, is by her side and makes unimaginable efforts to assist her. Our first run was at Steppenwolf 1700 in Chicago in 2019, followed by performances at Repertorio Español NY in 2024, Instituto Cervantes of Chicago (September-October 2024). The play is Jeff Recommended and now will be part of Encuentro 2024.
