Talking with Angels: Budapest, 1943 is a gripping and miraculous true story of courage, faith, and resilience in the face of unimaginable loss and injustice. In Nazi-occupied Hungary, three Jewish artists and their friend, Gitta Mallasz—a young Hungarian woman who risked her life by posing as a Nazi officer—defied the horrors of the Holocaust by sheltering over 100 Jewish women and children in a factory reminiscent of Schindler’s List. As they faced the darkest depths of humanity, they recorded channeled messages from mysterious “angels,” guiding them on a transformative journey of self-discovery and purpose. This hauntingly beautiful story reveals the power of inner truth amid a world gripped by political lies and terror.
Adapted and performed by Shelley Mitchell, the production is enriched by the contributions of Amy Marie Seidel (Here There Are Blueberries) and directed by Molly Shayna Cohen.
