Reclamation: Beyond the Veil is an ensemble-driven, devised theatre performance that explores the complexities of Black identity, liberation, and deconstruction. Developed through collaborative storytelling, movement, and music, the piece embraces joy as an act of resistance and envisions a world beyond the Veil—a space where history, spirituality, and personal narratives of the diaspora intertwine. Directed by The Liminal Theatre Collective’s Artistic Director, Azudi Onyejekwe, choreographed by Ava Jones, and co-created and performed by a dynamic ensemble of multidisciplinary artists, this work emerges from TLTC’s mission to develop works by artists of color that navigate the spaces between tradition and change. It also launches TLTC’s Liminal Labs series, the collective’s creative incubator for bold, innovative new theatre from emerging artists of color.
