*Bhikharigatha* written and directed by MRITYUNJAY PRABHAKAR, is a tribute to Bhikhari Thakur, often referred to as the "Shakespeare of Bihar." Bhikhari Thakur (1887–1971) was a prominent playwright, poet, and social reformer from Bihar, India. He is especially known for his contribution to the development of Bhojpuri theatre and literature. Thakur’s plays, songs, and poetry vividly portrayed the social issues of his time, especially focusing on the lives of the marginalized, rural folks, and the complexities of their day-to-day struggles.
