Illuminate the Winter: Lantern Making Workshop with Fritz Smith - Two Day Workshop
Instructor: Fritz Smith
As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, join us in a celebration of light and creativity. Led by artist and educator Fritz Smith, this hands-on lantern-making workshop invites participants to craft beautiful, glowing lanterns using natural materials like willow branches, tissue paper, and LED lights.
Designed for all skill levels, this joyful and enriching experience offers not only the chance to learn a new artistic technique but also to be part of something bigger. Participants are warmly invited to carry their handmade lanterns in the River of Lights Parade on January 17, a magical outdoor procession that brings warmth, color, and community spirit to the heart of winter.
This year’s theme is Light in the Darkness—a reflection on how we can bring brightness, hope, and connection to even the coldest, darkest days. Come create, connect, and shine with us.
