Location: Boston Casting 500 Harrison Avenue, Suite 4R-D Boston, MA 02118 Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting), Mindy Kaling (The Office), and Quinta Bruson (Abbott Elementary) are just a few of the actors who achieved stardom by writing roles for themselves to highlight their individual talents. In this workshop, students will develop their writing skills while conceiving and scripting projects with a focus on characters, dialogue, and narrative arcs. We’ll also explore three-act structure, industry-standard script formats, and tips for surviving in the entertainment business while building your own audience.
About the instructor:
Andrew Osborne is an Emmy Award-winning writer with independent film credits including the Sundance Film Festival premiere On_Line, the Tribeca premiere The F Word, and his own directorial debut, Apocalypse Bop. Mr. Osborne has also written scripts for the Discovery Channel program Cash Cab, the Image Comics series Blue Estate, and The NoSleep Podcast in addition to producing the Boston 48 Hour Film Project and developing film, TV, game, and theatrical projects for Warner Bros., HBO, MTV, Orion Pictures, Microsoft Gaming, The Builders Association, and others.
