This new class focuses on sharpening actors’ scene study and performance skills using fully scripted scenes written by local playwrights and screenwriters. Each actor will work on 3–5 page scenes selected from submissions by local writers, offering fresh, original material that challenges and inspires.

The emphasis is on the actor’s craft (text analysis, character development, and truthful performance) within the context of completed work. Writers may be invited to attend select classes or receive video clips of their scenes in action, fostering potential networking opportunities and creative collaborations.

Script Analysis & Performance: Original Material is not a writing workshop, but a performance-centered class that brings actors and writers into conversation through the work itself by building community, developing new work, and keeping the material vibrant and relevant.
