Aphra Behn’s The Rover (1667) is a witty Restoration comedy set amidst the celebration of Carnival. Lovers, libertines, and clever women collide in a whirlwind of disguise and desire. This vibrant production, directed by Bryn Boice with an ‘80s hairband twist, showcases Behn’s bold voice and sharp humor, as the first professional female playwright in the English language.
Bryn Boice is an award-winning director, educator, actor, and producer, as well as CSC’s Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education & Training.

The Suffolk University Theatre Department is a student-centered department. Students write, direct, and design their own original plays and intern with leading theatre companies, both at Suffolk’s Modern Theatre and with organizations throughout the United States. Students work in classic, musical, and experimental genres
with a special focus on new work.
The Suffolk University Theatre Department’s Mainstage Productions are held twice a year in Suffolk University’s Modern Theatre, located in Boston’s Theater District. These productions feature a contemporary or new play, directed by a Theatre Department faculty member or a guest artist. Theatre Department productions in the Modern are high-profile opportunities for student artists to be seen by the university
and larger Boston community.

Walk-up tickets will be available at the Modern Theatre box office on the day of the event, subject to availability.
If the event is sold out, you may add your name to the waitlist by checking in at the box office at the Modern Theatre. The waitlist will open one hour before each performance's scheduled start time.

WAITLIST: If the event is sold out, you may add your name to the waitlist by checking in at the box office on the day of your preferred performance. All unclaimed tickets will be released to the waitlist ten minutes before each performance's scheduled start time.
ARRIVAL: The Modern Theatre lobby and box office will open one hour before each performance's scheduled start time. Please arrive at the Modern Theatre and check in at the box office at least 15 minutes before your performance's scheduled start time to avoid losing your tickets to the waitlist.
SEATING: This event has General Admission seating. All seats are first-come, first-served.
RUNNING LATE? Late seating will be permitted if seats are available and during appropriate breaks in the performance, at the Front of House Manager's discretion. Please arrive on time, at least 15 minutes before your performance's start time to avoid losing your tickets to the waitlist.
