Join SVMoA for a conversation with independent curator Matthew Thompson about his work as director of the art program at Utah’s Powder Mountain. The expansive project, which will feature outdoor installations by internationally known artists including Nancy Holt, Jenny Holzer, Paul McCarthy, James Turrell, among many others, has been written about in The New York Times, Artforum, Forbes, and elsewhere. Thompson, a former curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, will discuss selection and siting of the installations within the landscape as well as the idea of building a collection for public experience.
