The Babson Ceramic Studio Spring
Session runs from January 30 – April 24, 2026.
Please note 2 major changes from previous
semesters:
·Users must attend
orientation no later than one week after the studio opens. If you have not attended orientation by
February 6, your spot will be forfeited without refund.
·This is a shared community space. All users are required to participate
in a 30-minute studio cleaning session at the end of the semester.
The Babson Ceramic Studio is
open daily to registered members for a studio fee of $100, which covers the
cost of clay, glazes, firings, and tutorials. To maintain best practices for
safety and cleanliness in the studio, all users are required to attend an
Orientation session and sign a user agreement prior to using the studio no
later than February 6. Please note that card access will not be requested
until completion of these steps has been confirmed with the BabsonARTS office.
Except for scheduled events, the studio is accessible for general use via card
access from 8am – 10pm daily. All users are responsible for maintaining the
cleanliness and adhering to the outlined practices of this studio and access is
contingent on meeting these expectations.
Supplies and staffing provided
are based on moderate use of the studio and materials and not large volume
production, personal or otherwise. Users who are working at a high-level of
output beyond personal use may be asked to provide or purchase additional
materials as approved by the Ceramics Studio Manager. If violations are deemed
egregious, the user may lose their membership to the studio with no refund of
the membership fee.
Registration
will be available on a tiered basis January 14 & 15, or until all available
slots are filled.
Each member must register individually, and payment is due at registration. For
more information, please email ceramicstudio@babson.edu. Please note that registration
is only open to current Babson, Wellesley, and Olin students, faculty, and
staff on a first come, first served basis.
Drop-in tutorials and workshops
on basic skills and techniques are offered regularly throughout the semester
for studio members. Studio monitors will be available to answer questions and
provide support during their posted hours.
The Ceramics Studio accommodates
40 members and is highly sought-after, selling out each semester. While there
are no minimum usage requirements, please keep this in consideration when
registering and confirming your membership. BabsonARTS staff will periodically
assess individual usage and may inquire with members who do not utilize the
studio for the majority of the semester.
The
studio will be closed for a workshop Thursday, February 5, 4:00pm-8:00pm
