It's Not Faire
Book & Lyrics by Katie Nieto
Music by Jett Mills
It's Not Faire is a raunchy, new musical comedy about a ditsy SoundCloud rapper named Tripp who gets a job as a fry cook at a Renaissance Faire to pay for his last year of college after losing his scholarship. Guided by the horny ghost of George Washington in drag, Tripp gets in with a group of insecure and sexually frustrated theatrical performers who enlist him to star as Laertes in an abridged/audience-participatory production of Hamlet. Thrown into intense Shakespearean dialogue training, the broken marriage of the production's diva director & infidel star, and the pressure of two big off-Broadway producers coming to watch the show, Tripp realizes that he’ll need to step up and “be a man” (whatever that means.)
