Success
in this industry isn’t about luck. It’s about understanding the business and
preparing strategically.
In
this four-hour workshop, Casting Director Angela Peri, who has been casting
award-winning films and national commercials in Boston for over 30 years, pulls
back the curtain on how actors actually get hired. From agents and managers to
headshots, resumes, reels, submissions, and self-tapes, you’ll gain real
insight into how decisions are made and what separates working actors from
everyone else.
But
insight alone isn’t enough.
This
workshop goes beyond conversation and into action. Together, we break down the
step-by-step process of becoming truly rep-ready: formatting resumes,
strengthening reels, choosing effective headshots, building clean profiles and
websites, researching representation, writing compelling cover letters, and
using Actors Access strategically.
Real
examples will be shown live on a big screen so you can see what works, what
doesn’t, and why.
Actors
are encouraged to submit their headshot and demo reel in advance. All submitted
headshots will be reviewed and critiqued during class, and time permitting,
select demo reels will also be reviewed live. Participants will receive a
Google Drive folder via email the day before the workshop to upload materials
(keep an eye out for that confirmation).
With
Angela’s behind-the-table casting perspective and Becki Dennis’s professional insight, actors will leave with clarity, direction, and a concrete plan,
whether booking work independently or approaching agents and managers at the
right time.
This
seminar is ideal for actors ready to level up and take a more informed,
intentional approach to their careers. Parents and guardians of child actors
are welcome.
