2026 Wendy Pesky Educator Summit
Monday, June 8, 2026 at 9:00AM

The Sun Valley Museum of Art
191 5th Street E.
Ketchum, ID 83340

The Wendy Pesky Educator Summit is a two-day professional learning experience for K–12 Blaine County educators.

Designed to be hands-on and collaborative, the summit brings together educators across disciplines to explore how the arts can support student learning, engagement, and well-being. This year’s summit explores the transformative role of art in education through the lenses of social-emotional learning, art therapy, and student well-being. Together, we will reflect on how creative practice can support resilience, foster belonging, and nurture the whole child in today’s classrooms and communities.

Featuring presenters from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, the summit includes keynote lectures and interactive workshops that model inquiry-based learning, visible thinking routines, and creative approaches to building inclusive, student-centered classrooms. Sessions such as "Artful Movements" invite educators to engage in embodied, movement-based learning experiences that connect physical expression with observation, interpretation, and reflection. Educators will participate directly in activities, reflect with peers, and explore strategies they can adapt across grade levels and subject areas.

Educators will leave with fresh ideas, meaningful connections, and renewed energy for their work.

A $200 stipend will be provided to participating K–12 Blaine County educators.
