Introduction to Linoleum Block Printing

In this six-week course students will learn the fundamentals of linoleum block printing. We will explore the tools, materials, and techniques of relief printmaking while developing skills in the use of negative space, composition, design transfer, carving, and printing. Through drawing exercises and guided block printing projects, you'll gain the confidence to create and edition your own signed and numbered block prints. 

*Most materials such as inks, rollers, newsprint, paper, and cleaning materials will be provided. Students will be responsible for getting their own carving tools.Registered students will be contacted prior to the beginning of the class with information where to purchase the carving tools.
