The Brick presents The Wreck of the Unbelievable by Sleth playing Sep 17-26, 2026 at The Brick Theater running time 70 minutes tickets $25-50
Art world megastar Damien Hirst has died! Suddenly, scandalously, suspiciously!
He leaves behind hundreds of dead animals in formaldehyde, one diamond-encrusted skull and a recently-exposed secret boyfriend, an unknown painter named Shape. Mara, an assistant curator of a rushed Hirst retrospective, scrambles to get Shape’s story first. She interrogates him on failure, legacy and their explosive sex life. The Wreck of the Unbelievable is a horny, gay, messy reflection on being left in the shadow of someone colossal.
Playwright’s note: As of time of writing, Damien Hirst is alive and straight.
