HCC’s Horowitz Center 2025-2026 Music Student Ushers

As a part of your music studies, you have been asked to volunteer your time to help patrons during our Concert Series this season.  We truly appreciate your time and hope you have fun helping our guests.

What should you wear when you arrive to volunteer?  Here is our dress code, which is gender neutral.

DRESS CODE: (ALL BLACK)

Ushers should look professional (business casual). Below are the minimum guidelines for attire:

Collared shirt (tie not required), blouse and/or nice sweater

Dress pants, skirt, or dress,

Your shoes should allow you to walk up and down stairs safely.

Unacceptable items - jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, sandals/flip-flops, sweatshirts/sweat pants, tank tops and shorts. 

Please make every effort to dress accordingly.

PRE-SHOW TRAINING

Upon your arrival, you will receive training for our ushering procedures, which include:

Scanning tickets, helping patrons with accessibility needs, seating, helping artists enter the stage, and more.

NEED TO CHANGE YOUR VOLUNTEER SHIFT?

If you cannot usher on the date above,

YOU MUST CALL the Horowitz Center Box Office at 443-518-1500 ext 0.

Leave a detailed message, including your name and phone number. A Box Office Attendant will call you back the following business day to reschedule if there are still usher slots remaining for the run of the show.

USHER CREDIT

When you arrive, you will receive an usher ticket for the event, as confirmation.  Additionally, the house manager can provide and sign the required forms, verifying that you completed your usher shift. Ushers who do not report for their shifts WILL NOT receive credit.
