Adams School of Music and the Arts Dean, Dr. Sarita Kwok, and Gordon’s own Dr. Alina Polyakov perform Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 8, Op. 30, No. 3–witty, restless, playful–alongside his explosive and volatile Violin Sonata No. 9, Op. 47  “Kreutzer”. This 2026–2027 season, as we commemorate the bicentenary of Beethoven’s passing, we invite our audiences to encounter him not simply as a monument of the past, but as a composer whose music speaks with striking immediacy to the human experience—exploring themes that remain as relevant today as they were in his time.
