Stifling life on a rural Russian estate unravels when a pompous retired professor returns with a beautiful young second wife — triggering explosive desires, unrequired love and bitter realizations about lost potential, set against themes of longing and ecological concerns.
This special staged reading is presented in tandem with the spring production of Aaron Posner's Life Sucks, a modern adaptation of Uncle Vanya.
