The holidays are better when we’re together. For Front Porch’s 10th Anniversary Season, we’re bringing the Porch Fam back for a holiday feast of Black sitcom classics. We’re filling this year’s table with big laughs, familiar faces, and all of the festive chaos you know and love.

This year’s Holiday Feast serves up three episodes from three beloved series: The Jamie Foxx Show, Living Single, and What’s Happening!!, all directed by Porch family and co-founder, Dawn M. Simmons. From unexpected holiday memories to friendship drama and family gatherings that never quite go according to plan, these episodes remind us that the best part of the season isn’t perfection. It’s the people you get to laugh, eat, argue, celebrate, and make memories with.

So pull up a chair and settle in with the Porch Fam. Because after 10 years, we know one thing for sure: there’s always room for one more at the table.

For a decade, Front Porch has created a place where Black artists, stories, and audiences can feel seen, celebrated, challenged, and at home. Pull Up a Seat extends that work by making it easier for more people to experience our productions.

The Porch is for everybody. For our 10th season, we're making it easier to pull up a seat. Choose the ticket that works for you: $10, $30, $45, or $60. If you can give more, your ticket helps us make room for somebody else. If $10 is what works for you, we got you. Because there's always room on the Porch.

Walk-up tickets will be available to purchase at the Modern Theatre box office on the day of the event, subject to availability. Please note: The Modern Theatre box office accepts cash and swipe card payments. The box office cannot accept contactless payments at this time.

Please see below for important information to note before your visit to the Modern Theatre:

SEATING: This event has General Admission seating. All seats are first-come, first-served. 

ARRIVAL: The Modern Theatre lobby & box office will open one hour before each performance's scheduled start time. Theatre doors will open for audience seating approx. 30 minutes before each performance's scheduled start time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event's scheduled start time to check in at the box office and find a seat.

WAITLIST: If a performance is sold out, you may add your name to the waitlist by checking in at the Modern Theatre box office on the day of the performance. The box office opens one hour before each performance's scheduled start time. All unclaimed tickets will be released to the waitlist 10 minutes before the performance's scheduled start time. 

RUNNING LATE? Late seating will be permitted during appropriate breaks in the performance, at the Front of House Manager’s discretion. Please arrive on time, at least 15 minutes before your event's start time. 

If you are running late, please call (617) 557-6537 or email boxoffice@suffolk.edu to notify the Modern Theatre staff and ensure your tickets are not released to the waitlist.

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION: Parking and transportation recommendations can be found here. 

PROHIBITED & PERMITTED ITEMS: We encourage you to leave valuables, large bags, and other personal belongings at home. Outside food and beverages are not allowed and need to be consumed in the lobby or disposed of before entering the theatre. There is no coat or bag check at the theatre, and prohibited items will not be stored onsite by venue management.

• Large bags including backpacks, luggage, and duffle bags 

• Cameras and tripods 

• Vapes and e-cigarettes 

• Bikes, helmets, skateboards, Heelys, rollerblades, and non-mobility aid scooters

• Weapons of any type
