A Noise Within

As a celebration of our national pioneering spirit, Aaron Copland wrote America’s gutsiest and most beautiful original composition - the 1945 Pulitzer Prize winning “Appalachian Spring.” From the 1980’s through today, Mike Simpson (aka EZ Mike of the Dust Brothers) has led a new group of musical pioneers – innovating sound techniques like sampling and digital recording to harness the complicated energy of America in a global age. When Rachael Worby puts these groundbreakers together, it’s a fireworks show. It all explodes with a 13 piece chamber orchestra, Copland’s original instrumentation, a DJ spinning original music from Mr. Simpson, and the brilliant choreography of acclaimed dance creator Kitty McNamee. For good measure our collaborators at A Noise Within provide dramatic surprises in their stunning performance space that literally brings the action right to the audience.
