SCHIAP

In SCHIAP, the latest work by Balletto di Sardegna, the company focuses on an important female Italian figure: the stylist and fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli. In Paris of the 30’s Schiaparelli revolutionized the history of fashion and costume and emerged as a powerful and eccentric artist and business woman. The show pays homage to this great woman, master of provocation and sophistication, and is meant to reveal the relationship that over the years has been established between dance, fashion and figurative arts. SCHIAP is choreographed by the young London-based Sardinian choreographer Moreno Solinas. World premiere

Mersiha Mesihovic

Mersiha Mesihovic presents two of her latest works, Dissonance, and I Am. Dissonance explores a perverse position: that the sense of despair Mesihovic associates with her native Bosnia and Herzegovina is fertile ground for the extreme joy expressed in the region’s art. The work express the relationship between despair and joy and the contradictions of being human. Dissonance brims with emotion. As the piece progresses, the surreal chain of images make our existence seem even more impossible. It is loaded with sad, amusing and shocking events that challenge our values and questions our perception of what is normal.
