DIDO AND AENEAS is Henry Purcell's most famous work. It is probably the best known opera written before Mozart, and one of the most loved of all English language operas. The traditional story line of the opera concerns the love between a Trojan hero named Aeneas and the Cartheginian queen Dido, Aeneas' struggle between love and duty, and Dido's [spoiler alert!] suicide [after her famous lament, "When I am laid to earth"] after Aeneas decides to leave to fulfill his destiny as founder of Rome. Come and enjoy our version of this classic tale - seeing/hearing our witches alone will be well worth the price of admission! Additional baroque music will also be featured during the performance... One FREE ticket available at the SPA box office during normal business hours for holders of current UCF ID cards.\ Cast for Saturday: Belinda: Aja Grooms Dido: Kristen Judson 2nd Woman: Samantha Riling-Lopez Aeneas: Hunter Curry Sorceress: Maeghin Mueller First Witch: Micki Ilyes Second Witch: Maggie Gifford Sailor: Jonatan Rodriguez Spirit: Natalia Valdes-Molina Cast for Sunday: Belinda: Romana Saintil Dido: Lydia Jorge 2nd Woman: Samantha Riling-Lopez Aeneas: Eric Spinner Sorceress: Caroline Miller First Witch: Micki Ilyes Second Witch: Maggie Gifford Sailor: David Soto Spirit: Queenija Morris
