Let’s visit the heart of Hell’s Kitchen and explore one of New York City’s famed neighborhoods, as Gaeilge.
An area traditionally known for its large Irish-American population and rough character, Hell’s Kitchen has experienced significant urban renewal since the 1980s and is now home to a thriving arts scene. This Féile na Gaeilge, come celebrate the Irish language through an exploration of IAC’s neighborhood, or comharsanacht, of Hell’s Kitchen. Part walking tour of the area, part discussion of your neighborhood, and a whole lot of fun, language enthusiasts will be immersed in language sessions, conversation, workshops, and more.
After you’ve learned specific vocabulary and phrases, you’ll enjoy a stop at the historical Landmark Tavern to discuss what you’ve seen that day!
