Comedy/Drama
The play takes place over a spread of twenty five years. Corporal Larry, in Korea during the Korean War, sets out to marry a young woman he has fallen for while stationed near her village. Especially because Larry is black, he (and later, they) encounter strange resistance, from her family as well as from the military (essentially, Larry’s family). That pattern continues throughout their life, evolving however into a beautiful testimony for who they are, and what they come to represent.
