Saturday, May 9th at 11:30 AM. In this rare open rehearsal, The Orchestra and Chorus of Emmanuel Music prepare Bach Cantata BWV 97 “In allen meinen Taten”, conducted by Michael Beattie. In addition to hearing the work in progress, visitors will learn about the history, function, and structure of Bach Cantatas and their significance to Emmanuel Music, which has been performing Bach Cantatas in a traditional liturgical setting since 1970 under the direction of its late founder Craig Smith. This is a rare opportunity to witness the Emmanuel Music tradition from which many of Boston’s finest performers emerge, including Lorraine Hunt Lieberson. Following the rehearsal, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers. Admission is free. To hold your spot(s) please make a reservation.

Doors will open a half hour before the rehearsal.
