In this rare open rehearsal, The Orchestra and Chorus of Emmanuel Music prepare Bach Cantata BWV174 “Ich liebe den Höchsten von ganzem Gemüte”, conducted by Ryan Turner. In honor of Bach's 330th Birthday visitors will learn about the history, function, and structure of Bach Cantatas and their significance to Emmanuel Music, which has been performing Bach Cantatas in a traditional liturgical setting since 1970. This is a rare opportunity to witness the Emmanuel Music tradition from which many of Boston’s finest performers emerge, including Lorraine Hunt Lieberson. Admission is free.
