Hard Shoe Irish Step Dancing (Fall 2015)
with Laura Neese
Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 8:30PM

Pearl Studios
500 8th Avenue between 35th and 36th Streets
4th Floor, Room 415
New York, NY 10018

A boot-camp introduction to the basics of "hardshoe" Irish step dancing - some previous Irish or percussive dance experience (tap, flamenco, etc.) is recommended. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of Irish percussive dance, starting with posture and alignment, conditioning, basic sound patterns, and progressing to treble reels, jigs, and even a hornpipe. You'll learn a few solo steps, and we'll round out the session with a group dance - putting together all the pieces learned over the term!

Comfortable clothing and hornpipe shoes or tap shoes recommended.
