Chris Johns serves as chief content officer of the National Geographic Society, overseeing editorial content across the organization’s media platforms. During his nearly 10-year tenure as editor in chief of National Geographic magazine, his efforts to focus on excellence in photojournalism and reporting earned 21 National Magazine Awards. As a photographer, Johns produced more than 20 articles for National Geographic, including eight cover stories. He was named one of the world’s 25 most important photographers by American Photo magazine.
