A documentary on a chorus of senior citizens from Massachusetts who learn and perform songs by Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay, Sonic Youth, and other unexpected musicians.

Professor Alice-Ann Darrow, Irvin Cooper Professor of Music Therapy and Music Education from Florida State University, will join Frost School Professor Don D. Coffman, who chairs the Department of Music Education and Music Therapy, to discuss music making among older adults. Dr. Darrow’s teaching and research interests are in teaching music to special populations and the role of music in deaf culture. Dr. Coffman’s research interests are in music-making among “chronologically gifted” adults.

This film screening is sponsored by the Department of Music Education and Music Therapy and is the second of three screenings about the portrayal of music learning and teaching in popular film. Each screening is followed by a panel discussion and audience participation.
