Join us as The Orchestra and Chorus of Emmanuel Music prepares Bach Cantata BWV 182, Himmelskönig, sei willkommen, conducted by Artistic Director Ryan Turner. The audience will listen to the work in progress, and will learn about the history, function, and structure of Bach Cantatas and their significance to Emmanuel Music. Emmanuel Music has been performing Bach cantatas in a traditional liturgical setting since its late founder Craig Smith began the tradition in 1970. This is an opportunity to witness the Emmanuel Music ensemble from which many of Boston’s finest performers emerge. Admission is free, but reservations are requested.
